The grocery delivery company that robbed an apartment in suburban Atlanta last week is the latest in a series of attacks targeting small business in the city.
The robbery, which occurred Tuesday, happened when an employee was attempting to deliver a package.
A man armed with a knife entered the apartment and demanded money, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
According to police, the man tried to open the door and was able to grab the employee.
The employee, who is a registered nurse, fought back and pulled the knife away.
It’s unclear if the worker was injured in the struggle.
“It’s one of the most common ways you can rob a house and get away with it,” said Atlanta police Detective Sean Gorman.
Gorman said the suspect was a known member of a local drug cartel.
Atlanta police said they do not know whether the employee was targeted because he or she was employed by the grocery delivery business.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call them.
