AUSTIN, Texas— The man who is suing Walmart in Mexico for not allowing him to buy his groceries there said he has been waiting more than two years to see his family again.
Daniel Ramos, 43, has been living in Texas since his arrival from Mexico two years ago, and his wife, Carmen, said he doesn’t know when his family will be able to come home again.
“They just kept calling me, asking me when my family is coming home.
They told me they were going to give me a phone call tomorrow,” Ramos said.
Ramos said he was worried about what would happen to his family once they left the country.
“I have to see my family again,” Ramos added.
Ramos is suing for damages for being unable to buy groceries from Walmart.
He is seeking unspecified damages and for the right to be reimbursed for the cost of his travel to buy the items.
Martinez said Walmart’s policy is that customers who arrive without their families can pick up their groceries at any Walmart store in the U.S. that has a physical store.
But Ramos said he didn’t think Walmart was following this policy.
“They told me I couldn’t buy groceries because they were not allowed to open up for families.
And they said that it was a violation of their policy,” Ramos told The Associated Press in an interview.
A spokesperson for Walmart did not respond to a request for comment.
Ramos has said he is waiting for his family to get home, but he hasn’t been able to do so.
In April, Ramos was arrested after he tried to leave the country, saying he was being held in detention by Mexican authorities.
Ramos had been on a humanitarian mission to Nicaragua for a year and said he hoped to return to Mexico to visit his family.
He said his family had to be detained for about two months because they did not have proper documents to leave Mexico.
Ramros said he spent several days in Mexico’s capital city of Mexico City before being released on a tourist visa, but his family was still detained.
He and his family have not been able, however, to visit their family members.
Ramms’ lawyer, Miguel Murguia, said Ramos has never been to Mexico before.
Murgunia said Ramos arrived in Mexico in December 2016, but said the family was not allowed in Mexico until he went on a mission in Nicaragua.
He did not provide details about the mission.
Ramones said his wife is not a citizen of Mexico and he doesn.
The lawsuit is being filed on behalf of his wife and three children.
Murguía said Ramos did not travel to Nicaragua because he did not know the country was a country of laws.
He also said Ramos was not in contact with the Nicaraguan government or the government of his mother-in-law.
Murgunias office did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.
